What is bycatch?
Bycatch is when people who catch yummy seafood to put in our supermarkets also catch other animals that they didn't want to catch in their nets. They can catch animals that we usually don't eat like turtles and dolphins! This is big problem because these animals can get wrapped up in the nets, and it can choke them! They can also lose an arm or a leg!

What is this website for?
On this website, we are going to go around the United States and Canada to learn about bycatch, and what is being done about it! There is even bycatch happening in our own state of Maryland! So follow me as we start our adventure and look at one of Maryland's most famous animals who lives in the Chesapeake Bay!
